It all started with our original canvas tool bag in 1986. Richard Fixen started the company by providing hundreds of canvas tool bags to department and specialty stores.

In the early 1990's Richard Fixsen making custom gear for his son who was a firefighter. From there, Ruffian turned into one of the most recognized Fire gear companies in California.
